"aesthetic" is a word that's become increasingly common to refer to this somewhat nebulous idea of a feeling imparted by presentation. you probably already knew this. it's like the word "vibe", which is rarely used to actually talk about anything spirtual anymore, in that its a word that is useful because of how difficult it is to identify the constituents and how easy it is to identify the sum.

ok so what does any of that mean and why does it matter? well in a utilitarian sense it sounds like it doesn't, but it does actually. consider branding and marketing, color choice is often used to evoke a psychological reaction. note how mcdonalds uses both yellow and red, colors associated with excitement. this is literally weaponizing aesthetics but calling them something gay (derogatory) and boring like "color psychology".

in a more fun and open sense, an aesthetic is an invitation to a mindset, rather than a malicious intent to influence ones thoughts. for example, your profile picture subtley reflects who you are and likely how people will percieve you, but you probably didn't think of how you can use this to prime people for you or anything, but rather just as a way to express yourself.

this website has slowly cultivated an aesthetic meant to evoke fun amatuer efforts and flashy gaudy bullshit, though the blogzone is meant to be less overwhelming, to better fit the slow reading you'll be doing here. the aesthetic helps tie it all together, its the reason why presentation is so important. would games like team fortress 2, windwaker, and pizza tower be so highly acclaimed if it werent for their presentations? i somewhat doubt it.
